AmerisourceBergen is augmenting Supplier Diversity efforts through the development of a short- and long-term strategy, which includes expanding our supplier diversity program by pivoting our approach from a regional focus. In FY20, AmerisourceBergen began developing relationships with leading national supplier diversity councils, including the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC), the National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC), the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Through these relationships, AmerisourceBergen hopes to build a pipeline of additional, qualified diverse suppliers to add to our portfolio. In addition, AmerisourceBergen is chartering and launching an internal Supplier Diversity Council with leaders from various business units and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) with the goal of advancing efforts in identifying, selecting, and developing diverse suppliers. As part of this effort, plans are underway to refresh the digital presence of AmerisourceBergen in this space. The end result of this plan will be to positively impact the supplier diversity community who can provide goods and services throughout the entire supply chain.
